About Us
The Eastfield Quintet started as a casual jam of Jazz and Blue Standards among old friends. We were quickly captivated by the elegance of the music and the refined sentiments of the lyrics.
It seemed that these classic songs had the antidote to the malaise and cynicism that sometimes hangs over the world today. Many rehearsals later, we have a deep appreciation for the artistry of the composers and original performers of the songs we cover.
Our live performances enable us to celebrate their music and share the joy and optimism it brings with our audiences. The band’s name comes from the road in Brighton where we had those early jam sessions.
The Line up and the Set
Jonny is a natural performer with a dynamic voice and a stage presence to match. He has performed in major stage and West End productions including La Bohème and Dusty. His showbiz gravitas engages audiences and makes our music energising and intimate.

Phil - Percussion and Backing Vocals
Phil has released solo albums on A&M Records, collaborated with Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music and received the John Lennon Songwriting Contest award. His impeccable taste, harmonious backing vocals, and rock-solid groove give us our distinctive sound.
Emlyn - Keyboard and Backing Vocals
Emlyn is a classically trained pianist who has played in orchestras all over the UK, including on the West End. He has produced music for film and was a member of the electronica band Stick Up Boys. His deep understanding of music enables us to create unique arrangements of timeless songs.
Ben - Bass and Backing Vocals
Ben was the bass player of well-respected Americana band, Society. They achieved critical success, appearing live on Bob Harris’s BBC radio show and touring all over Europe. Ben’s natural ear for harmony enables his bass playing to highlight the catchiest phrases in our songs.
Harry is self-taught and sometimes accidentally correct. Starting out with punk rock, Harry has matured into jazz but retains some of the energy of his younger days. His passion for music and basic web skills make him an invaluable member of the band.
